About me and my therapy practice

I am a HCPC-registered counselling psychologist with over 15 years of experience working in the NHS, third-sector, and educational settings. I work with adults facing a wide range of life challenges, including burnout, depression, anxiety, anger, phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), self-esteem difficulties, childhood abuse and trauma, bereavement, cultural and identity-related concerns, long-term health conditions, student mental health and pressures experienced by those in the performing arts and entertainment industry. I also provide personal therapy to trainee and qualified therapists to support their professional and personal development.

My work is informed by a combination of psychodynamic therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), held within a person-centred foundation. This approach can help you with exploring both present-day difficulties and deeper patterns which may have developed over time, while also helping you to find practical ways of coping and moving forward. I also incorporate elements of dream work and creative approaches to support your reflection and understanding beyond words.

As a counselling psychologist, I am trained to work integratively, which means I draw on all the models I work with to tailor my therapeutic approach to your individual needs and learning style. During therapy, I aim to understand you as a unique person within the wider context of your relationships, history and current life circumstances. We will work together to make sense of what you are experiencing at a pace that feels right for you.

Practice description

My practice is online only. I offer short- and long-term therapy by Zoom or Microsoft Teams video. I aim to provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where we can talk about issues which you feel are impacting your wellbeing.

I aim to offer a thoughtful, compassionate and reflective space in which you can explore your experiences, develop insight and make changes which feel authentic to you. However, please note that any meaningful change from therapy requires commitment, as it is not a quick fix.

My first session

I will contact you for a 25 minute informal chat via telephone or video to understand your therapeutic needs and answer any questions you may have. If you decide to proceed with therapy, I will then send you a working agreement and a brief questionnaire to assess your mood and risk prior to our first session.

About me and my therapy practice

My supervision style is integrative - I combine Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and psychodynamic approaches. To promote clarity and understanding in your clinical work and to help you process your reactions to clients, I aim to provide a safe space adapted to your individual needs by offering practical, exploratory, psychoeducational and problem-solving support in a collaborative and flexible way. We can also explore any practice-related issues which may or may not be directly linked to clinical work. If you are a trainee, please ensure my qualifications meet the requirements of your course and clinical placement.

Please note that I do not offer supervision within a single-model framework. If you are a trainee, please ensure my qualifications meet the requirements of your course and clinical placement.
