About me and my therapy practice

Welcome

Considering counselling can feel daunting, so congratulations in having the courage to take the first step! I am an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist, working with adults, older children and young people via online platforms, or Walk & Talk, in the peaceful, rural setting of Brill.

What I can offer you

I will offer you a warm, safe, confidential space in which you can unburden yourself of whatever is troubling you. I will work with you, at your pace, to help you untangle these worries and make sense of your history and current patterns of relating. I will then support you while you try out different strategies and new ways of thinking to revitalise you, effect change and enable you to move on positively.

Areas of Expertise

I work with a variety of issues, but specialise in anxiety disorders, whether generalised anxiety, health anxiety, OCD, panic disorder, anxiety related to specific events such as exams, or anxiety related to navigating Neurodivergence in a Neurotypical world.

Although my main area of expertise is in working with young people, I also offer counselling to adults, especially those involved in the Education Sector, whether as parents, employees or trainees. Having worked in Education for over a decade, I am aware of the particular stresses involved in this field.

Additionally, as a bereaved parent of an infant who had a life- limiting condition diagnosed in pregnancy, and as a trained Befriender for SANDS, I understand this very particular kind of loss and can support both parents and siblings through the grieving process.

How to get in Touch

I want to make this process easier, so I invite you for a free, no obligation, exploratory session via Zoom, in which you can discover whether I am the right Counsellor for you. Please feel free to enquire via email, or via my website.

I also offer a small number of concessions of £55 for counselling trainees and undergraduate Uni students. Please feel free to raise this in your initial enquiry.

My first session

I offer a free introductory session via Zoom of up to 45mins without any obligation, in which I explain what I offer and you can assess whether I might be the right therapist for you.

About me and my therapy practice

I am an experienced, Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor, offering both individual and group supervision to counsellors, complementary therapists, educators and pastoral staff.

I work from my practice in the peaceful, rural setting of Brill and can offer you a warm, safe, non- judgmental space to bring any client work that needs exploring.

My counselling approach is relational and integrative. My main area of expertise is in counselling older children and young people, something I have done for over a decade, although I have worked with ages 8-80 years.

My core Supervision model is the creative and collaborative 'Cyclical Model' (Page & Wosket 2015) into which I integrate the Restorative element of 'The Functional Model' (Inskipp & Proctor 1993) to facilitate disclosure and build confidence, and the eyes of 'The Seven Eyed Model' (Hawkins & Shohet 2012) to include reflections on all stakeholders and to aid in my reflective process as a supervisor.

Into a client- centred core, I bring experiential knowledge of Transactional Analysis and Psychodynamic theory to help you reflect on your client work and illuminate any relationships within. Our collaborative aim would be to enhance the depth of understanding of your client's process and what is happening relationally between you in the therapy space.

While our focus will always be on your clients, it will also be on strengthening you, both as a person and as a therapist and thus empowering you in your work. In essence I see my role as ‘to set the stage, to ask the right questions, to lead the supervisee subtly down the path to their discovery.’ (Borders 2009:201).

I invite you to contact me for a free, no obligation, initial session via Zoom, during which we can both assess whether we can form a positive and productive, working relationship.

I look forward to hearing from you and beginning a fruitful ‘learning alliance’. (Page& Wosket 2015:08).

£60 p/hr; £90 p/hr +1/2 £120 p/2hrs.
