About me and my therapy practice

A Warm Welcome

Life can feel overwhelming at times. You may be feeling anxious, low in confidence, stuck, struggling in relationships, or simply finding it hard to cope with everything that life is asking of you. Whatever has brought you here, you don't have to face it alone.

Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting. My aim is to provide a warm, compassionate and accepting environment where you feel safe to talk openly and explore whatever is happening for you.

My practice is rooted in a person-centred approach, where the therapeutic relationship provides the foundation for meaningful change. Working together at a pace that feels right for you, I will support you in developing greater self-awareness, building on your strengths, and finding the way forward that feels right for you.

Practice description

My Practice

I work with adults experiencing a wide range of emotional and life challenges, including anxiety, stress, depression, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, bereavement, workplace concerns and life transitions.

Alongside my general practice, I have a particular interest in supporting adults who are exploring whether ADHD may be part of their experience, as well as those who have received a diagnosis. You may find everyday tasks overwhelming, struggle with focus or organisation, experience intense emotions, or have spent years wondering why you feel different from others. Together, we can explore these experiences with curiosity and self-compassion, helping you develop a deeper understanding of yourself and discover ways of working that feel right for you.

I offer face-to-face counselling from a private, dedicated therapy room within my home, providing a calm, comfortable and confidential environment. Online counselling is also available if you would prefer the flexibility of remote sessions.

My first session

I offer a free initial 20-minute meeting by telephone, online, or in person. This can be a valuable opportunity to answer any questions you may have about the counselling process and to determine if we are a good fit. During this meeting, we can also discuss my availability and how we can work together to meet your needs.

Availability

I am available for supervision sessions from Tuesday to Friday, including some evenings. Please contact me to discuss your availability and to schedule a session at a time that is convenient for you.

About me and my therapy practice

I offer a well-rounded approach to supervision for both adult and child and young people (CYP) work. My approach is based on an integration of several models, including Inskipp and Proctor's functional model, which focuses on specific tasks and improvement; Page and Wosket's cyclical model, which emphasizes the context of personal and professional development; and Hawkins and Shohet's seven-eyed model, which is a systemic approach that considers multiple lenses. By combining these models, I provide a comprehensive and flexible approach to supervision that addresses the diverse needs of my clients. My core approach is person-centered.

Practice description

I  have 10 years of experience in the field of counselling, qualifying in 2013 and becoming a supervisor in 2019. In addition to working with children and young people (CYP) in a school setting for many years,  I offer counselling services to adults and CYP in private practice and work as a clinical supervisor for the charity MIND. I have also had the opportunity to work with expatriates as a freelance counsellor for Atrium HR, expanding my cultural knowledge and understanding. These diverse experiences have been valuable in my work as a supervisor, helping me to better understand and relate to the needs and experiences of my clients. I also have a strong understanding of different cultural perspectives, which allows me to provide inclusive and culturally responsive supervision.
