Practice description

My practice sits on the 2nd floor of a building in Hebden Bridge town centre. You will enter through the front door and immediately be met by a 2nd door with a doorbell, please ring this and you shall be welcomed into the reception space by Gareth.

At this point Gareth will guide you up to his personal counselling space.

Once into our personal practice space you will be offered the upmost safety, peace of mind, empathy, congruence and non-judgementalism whilst you open up about what you wish to.

My first session

Our first session is an important session for us to both fully introduce ourselves to each other, talk about the contract between ourselves, the agreed cost of sessions and also a time in which you can open up about the issues you wish to bring to counselling. We can then both get a feel for the relationship and whether we both wish to commit to the process. Then, of course, if you choose to continue with the process with me, to arrange the best time and date for us both to meet.

About me and my therapy practice

I am an integrative counsellor/supervisor with over 20 years of experience in counselling, drawing on a range of approaches to meet each of my client’s unique needs. My work is grounded in a Person-Centred foundation, offering a safe, empathic, and non-judgemental space where my supervisee's can explore their thoughts, feelings, their caseload and their aspirations to grow their practice at their own pace.

Alongside this, I incorporate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to help my clients understand patterns in their thinking, feeling and behaviour, Transactional Analysis (TA) to explore relational dynamics, long-standing life patterns and the ego states they may slip into, and Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT) to support emotional processing and change at a deeper level.

I work collaboratively and flexibly, tailoring the way I work to suit my clients & supervisee's needs as individuals—whether that involves gentle exploration, practical tools, or deeper insight into patterns and experiences. My aim is to support my clients in gaining clarity, resilience, and a greater sense of autonomy in their lives. with my supervisee's I work on a very explorative level using the seven eyed model as a base to help my supervisee's grow and understand themselves and their clients within that relationship, I also help and support my supervisee's on an ethical level challenging whilst supporting them in their growth as a counsellor, whether that be on a personal approach to their counselling or on a business level when in private practice.

Practice description

My Practise space is at Springfield House, 18 Albert Street, Hebden Bridge, W. Yorks HX7 8AH, I generally see clients that come from a 40-50 mile radius of that point which takes in most of W. Yorks, Greater Manchester, East Lancs and the southern aspect of North Yorkshire

I offer supervision to supervisees from an integrative, reflective, and collaborative stance, grounded in the Seven-Eyed Model. This framework enables us to explore your work through multiple lenses—client, supervisee, supervisor, relational dynamics, and, on a  wider context—supporting depth, clarity, and ethical awareness in your supervisory practice.

My approach is underpinned by a Person-Centred philosophy, providing a safe, non-judgemental space where you can think openly and develop your own supervisory voice. Alongside this, I draw on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to bring structure, formulation, and clarity to complex supervisory material, and Transactional Analysis to deepen understanding of relational processes, parallel dynamics, and ego states within supervision.

Working together, you can expect a balance of supportive exploration and thoughtful challenge—helping you to reflect on your practice, strengthen your confidence as a supervisor, and remain grounded, ethical, and responsive in your work.

My basic price structure for Supervision is as follows:

Student/Trainee Counsellors

£35 for 45mins every Fortnight OR

£65 for 1.5hrs every Month

Qualified Counsellors

£80 for 1.5hrs every Month

I am open to speaking about this and can offer honest concessions.

My first session

Initial Supervision Meeting – What to Expect

Our first meeting is an opportunity for us to explore whether we are a good fit to work together. I aim to offer a professional, supportive, and collaborative space, grounded in a Person-Centred approach where you feel safe to reflect openly on your work.

I work integratively, my supervisory leaning is toward using the Seven-Eyed Model as a framework to explore your client work, your internal process, relational dynamics, and the wider context of your practice. Alongside this, I have a depth of knowledge in Person-Centred to support you the supervisee in your own development, CBT to support structure and clarity, Transactional Analysis to deepen understanding of patterns and relationships, and IEMT where appropriate for deeper emotional processing.

During our initial session, we will explore your current context, including your level of experience, client group, and working environment. Whether you are a trainee, newly qualified, establishing a private practice, or an experienced practitioner (including those working within organisations such as the NHS), I tailor my approach to meet your developmental needs.

We will also discuss your expectations of supervision, what you are hoping to gain, and how you prefer to work, alongside what is required to maintain an effective and ethical supervisory relationship.

Practical aspects such as session length (I usually work for 1.5hrs monthly with qualified counsellors and offer an option for Student/Trainee counsellors, e.g. 1hour fortnightly or 1.5hours monthly, depending on your needs), frequency (in line with your caseload and professional body requirements), and fees will be clearly outlined. We will also consider ethical frameworks and any relevant professional body guidelines (e.g. ÌÇÐĹÙÍø, UKCP, NCPS).

This meeting is a space for you to ask questions, reflect, and decide whether you feel supported in moving forward.
