Practice description
Hello, I'm Christine, an MÌÇÐĹÙÍø (Accred) Counsellor and Psychotherapist with over 30 years of experience supporting adults through difficult times. I offer a warm, compassionate, and confidential space where you can talk openly, without fear of judgement. My aim is to help you feel heard, understood, and supported at a pace that feels right for you.
Life can sometimes leave us feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or alone. Whether you're experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, stress, or simply feeling that something isn't quite right, you don't have to face it on your own.
Together, we will explore what is happening in your life, helping you to make sense of your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Where appropriate, we may gently explore how past events continue to affect you today, enabling you to gain greater understanding, develop healthier ways of coping, and move towards lasting positive change.
I also have a particular interest in supporting people experiencing grief, bereavement, and loss. Whether your loss is recent or many years ago, I provide a caring and supportive environment where you can process your feelings and begin to find hope again.
Alongside my counselling practice, I offer clinical supervision for counsellors and psychotherapists in private practice, as well as mentoring for therapists who are considering establishing or developing their own practice.
Seeking support can feel daunting, but you don't have to have everything figured out before reaching out. If you're wondering whether counselling is right for you, I'd be happy to answer any questions and discuss how we might work together.
I invite you to watch my short introductory video to learn more about me and the way I work:

I look forward to hearing from you and supporting you on your journey towards feeling happier, stronger, and more like yourself again.
My first session
During this session, we will gently explore your current concerns, as well as aspects of your past experiences, including your childhood and significant relationships, where these feel relevant. My approach recognises that both our conscious and unconscious experiences can shape how we think, feel, and relate to others in adult life. Together, we will begin to understand whether these experiences may be influencing the difficulties you are facing today.
The assessment is an important part of the therapeutic process, as it helps us decide whether my way of working is the right fit for your needs. Just as I will be considering how best I can support you, it is equally important that you have the opportunity to get to know me and decide whether you feel comfortable, understood, and confident working with me.
There is no expectation to make a decision immediately. The assessment is a two-way process, giving you the time and space to ask questions, share your concerns, and consider whether you would like us to continue working together.
I hope this helps you understand the purpose of the initial assessment session and reassures you that it is designed with your comfort, wellbeing, and individual needs in mind.
